The National Workshop on PRTR executive proposal and awareness raising and dissemination strategies of PRTR data was held in Phnom Penh in March 2017. The opening remarks were made by the Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Environmental Protection of Cambodia, Mr. Chea Sina, followed by UNITAR CWM Manager, Mr. Jorge Ocaña.

During the workshop, the National Coordination Team presented the first draft of the PRTR proposal and several points were discussed. The participants, ranging from industries representative to national authorities and academia, agreed on the list of substances to be reported by facilities. UNITAR shared international experiences on PRTR systems development and practical uses of PRTR data. A specific session on how to disseminate data and create awareness was held in the afternoon by UNITAR representatives.
